They spread many harmful diases such as tyhoid fever, dysentery, diarrhea, and even tuberculosis. The body of a housefly is divided into three parts. They are head, a thoracx and abdomen, and the entire body is covered with numerous stiff hairs. The head of house fly bears a pair of rather short antenna, three simple eyes. The house fly has a pair of wings which are membranous and used for flying, and a pair of hind wings which are used for balancing when it flies. The house fly has three pairs of walking legs, one of each segment of the thorax. These legs are very hairy and they end in pair of claws between which is to small sticky pads. The house flay breeds in almost all kinds of decaying matter. The females lay eggs in batches of 100 to 150 eggs a time. Its egg is only 1 mm in lenght, creamy-white in color and cylindrical in shape. The eggs hatch in 12 to 24 hours into small, creamy-white, headless larvae, which have 12 body segments. The larva move by wriggling through the doft, moist, decaying material with the help of the hooks and the spiny pads. The larve is the first stage, whike the pupa is the second stage before becoming the imago. The house fly speads diases to us by its legs and mouths. A house fly feed on the decaying material where are many bacteria in it. It gets its hairy legs and mouth dirty with filth containing bacteria, later the house fly flies off and lands on our food. If you eat the food you eath the bacteria with it. If the bacteria are those of typhoid fever, diarrhea, dysentery, or other diases, ypu will catch these diseases and you become very ill. 17.
